About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Workersto provide high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to live independently, achieve their goals, and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
  • Support individuals in developing life skills, promoting independence, and engaging in community activities.
  • Encourage positive mental health and emotional well-being through active listening and support.
  • Implement and follow care plans and risk assessments.
  • Assist with medication management in line with company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other support staff.
  • Promote social inclusion, advocacy, and access to community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
  • Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.

Requirements

  • Experience in learning disabilities, autism, or mental health support (preferred but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not required).
  • A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Right to work in the UK.
