About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Workersto provide high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to live independently, achieve their goals, and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
- Support individuals in developing life skills, promoting independence, and engaging in community activities.
- Encourage positive mental health and emotional well-being through active listening and support.
- Implement and follow care plans and risk assessments.
- Assist with medication management in line with company policies.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other support staff.
- Promote social inclusion, advocacy, and access to community resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
- Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.
Requirements
- Experience in learning disabilities, autism, or mental health support (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not required).
- A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
- Right to work in the UK.
