Our client is a well established construction business based in Manchester and Yorkshire delivering high-quality student accommodation, contemporary residential apartments, and high end hotels across the North West and Yorkshire. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional design.

The Role:
They are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially driven Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. You will play a critical role in analysing costs and preparing accurate estimates for new build and refurbishment projects in the living and hospitality sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets from initial feasibility through to final tender.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Design, Commercial, and Bid teams to assess project risks and opportunities.
  • Support tender submissions with cost breakdowns, pricing strategies, and value engineering suggestions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, materials, and construction techniques.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or property development sector.
  • Background in residential, hospitality, or student accommodation projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with great attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and time management abilities.
