Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team, supporting the tendering and pricing of a variety of surfacing and groundwork projects across Merseyside and surrounding regions. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of civil engineering schemes and contribute directly to the company's growth.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate and competitive tenders for tarmac, asphalt and groundwork packages.

  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and site information to inform pricing strategies.

  • Undertaking site visits to assess conditions and constraints.

  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.

  • Producing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and supporting tender documentation.

  • Supporting value engineering and alternative solutions to improve bid competitiveness.

  • Handing over successful tenders to the operational team with clear scope and cost breakdowns.

  • Keeping up to date with market prices and industry trends.



What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven estimating experience within civil engineering, surfacing, or groundworks sectors.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Sound understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and commercial awareness.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

  • Full UK driving licence.
