Qualification/ Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, DraftSight) for product development, including sheet metal and FEA suites.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Previous industrial experience in a manufacturing environment with batch and bespoke products.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure all products meet regulatory standards and stay informed about any changes affecting vehicle construction and service.
- Assist Sales Managers in evaluating the feasibility of prospective business, aligning with production capabilities.
- Create and improve the design of components, assemblies, and bodywork to enhance quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Develop bespoke solutions in partnership with customers, turning their requirements into finished vehicles.
- Provide the purchasing department with the necessary information to procure the right parts at the correct specifications.
- Work with new and existing suppliers on product integration, troubleshooting, and seeking innovative solutions.
- Manage the vehicle approval process, keeping up with current vehicle legislation to minimise the company's exposure to changing requirements.
