This is no ordinary business, so we are seeking a Junior Test & Installation Engineer within our Surface Analysis department who is as enthused by our mission as we are. As a Junior Test & Installation Engineer you will be responsible for:
- In house pre-test for new and repaired sub-assemblies & upgrades.
- Final test of instruments and accessories to the detailed procedures.
- Commissioning of instruments within the U.K. and R.O.W. territories
- Attain acceptance of installed equipment by customers.
- Help to drive on team measures, facilitating and driving continuous improvements.
- Test the products to ensure that they meet the requirements of the product specification.
- Ensure adherence product specific procedures and completing quality and business records.
- Ensure problem and failure reporting.
- Training of the new staff and Shimadzu engineers.
- Providing the customer with technical support and training.
- Service support as required.
- Contribute to a safe and clean environment for you and your team to work in.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A HND in a similar discipline but is not essential.
- A natural curiosity and a strong interest in solving problems, especially in technical or practical settings.
- A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ahands-on approach to work, with the ability to think logically and methodically when diagnosing issues.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to ask questions, share ideas, and work closely with others.
- A team-first mindset, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
- An eye for detail and a focus on doing things right, even when learning something new.
- The ability to manage time well, stay organised, and follow processes while also being open to improvements.
- Some familiarity with tools, systems, or technology is a bonus but full training will be provided.
