Job Description:
A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Development Business Advisor with specialist expertise in the Finance and Professional Services sector. Acting as a trusted advisor to growing businesses across Greater Manchester, you'll use your industry insight and organisational development experience to help employers overcome workforce-related challenges and realise their growth ambitions. This is a sector-facing role suited to someone with a deep understanding of professional services and a strong grasp of workforce strategy, skills planning, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with business owners and senior leaders to understand their workforce development needs.
  • Promote skills and employment programmes, making high-quality referrals where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with sector leads to shape and deliver a robust development plan.
  • Work with employers to identify training gaps, workforce barriers, and talent retention issues.
  • Encourage inclusive hiring by supporting locally based employment initiatives.
  • Broker effective training solutions through regional partnerships and providers.
  • Accurately log client interactions and contribute to reporting and performance measures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in organisational development, coaching, or HR consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of workforce challenges within the finance and professional services space.
  • Experience delivering training needs analyses and workforce improvement plans.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Familiar with skills provision and business support infrastructure in Greater Manchester.
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent experience in a relevant business environment.
  • Commercially aware and customer-focused, with strong project management capabilities.
