WORKING HOURS / SHIFTS: Monday - Friday - 08:00- 16:00 (8h) with Flexibility to Cover QA absence on 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 -22:00

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quality Assurance / QA Technician who has previous experience working in Quality Control or in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing environment.

Working as a Quality Assurance / QA Technician you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards for food safety and quality ensuring compliance with customer codes of practice and conducting GMP and internal audits.

As a Quality Assurance / QA Technician you will have knowledge of allergens along with HACCP Principles, GMP and auditing. You will also need the capability to work flexibly to meet the changing needs of customers, with the ability to prioritise your workload and have a passion for delivering results making you an excellent addition to the team.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Quality Assurance / QA Technician include:

  • Complete internal audits in adherence with the site internal audit schedule & support with the closeout of actions assigned to the technical department to ensure compliance to site Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Maintain system for retaining records, filing, archiving and document control
  • Assist Technical Assurance Manager with technical issue resolution and continuous development of food safety and quality
  • Maintenance of Environmental Monitoring System - Assist collection and coordination of samples for routine micro / analytical analysis, ensuring that any exceedances are reported on a weekly basis & escalated to the TAM & TM immediately
  • Internal Non-Conformance Management (Manufacturing NCRs) - Support the manufacturing teams in the closeout of NCRs
  • Actively participate in third party audits (e.g. BRC & Customer)
  • Report on trends and issues to Site Management Team
  • Send Release Requests to K3 on a Daily Basis & respond to any specific stock release requests
  • Management of Pest Control
  • Complaint Management - Ensure all complaints are logged in a timely manner on the day of receipt & communicated to the relevant department/escalated if the complaint is of a serious nature). Investigate each complaint with the relevant team, assign owners to any actions that come from the investigations & add these to the complaints action plan. Investigate & Closeout any complaint actions assigned to the technical team
  • Traceability - Ensure all exercises are completed as per schedule & that any non-conformances & recommendations are captured/included in the summary document/action log
  • Food Safety Culture - Complete Food safety/Quality conversations & log on Sphera as required
  • Health & Safety Culture - Complete safety conversations log on Sphera as required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within Quality Control or Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing environment
  • Allergen knowledge and best practice in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of thermal food processing
  • Knowledge & understanding of the application of HACCP principles
  • Knowledge of GMP, Weights legislation, FSQMS
  • Qualification & experience of auditing
  • Computer literate with strong problem-solving skills
  • Root cause analysis
