Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to operate Transit and Sprinter vans on multi-drop routes. The successful candidate will deliver goods safely and efficiently, provide excellent customer service, and assist with basic warehouse and vehicle duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Duties:
Operate Transit or Sprinter vans safely on single and multi-drop delivery routes.
Deliver goods on time, in full, and in excellent condition.
Load and unload vans efficiently, using correct manual handling techniques and equipment.
Plan and follow routes efficiently, using GPS or company route planning tools.
Ensure accurate proof of delivery (POD) for all items delivered.
Vehicle Responsibilities:
Perform daily vehicle checks (lights, brakes, oil, tyres, fuel) and report any defects immediately.
Keep the van clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Ensure compliance with all road traffic laws, tachograph rules, and company safety policies.
Customer Service & Communication:
Provide a professional and courteous service to customers at all times.
Handle queries, complaints, or delivery issues promptly and escalate where necessary.
Maintain clear communication with dispatch or logistics teams regarding delays or route changes.
Warehouse / General Duties:
Assist with loading goods for delivery, including checking items against delivery notes.
Help maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation.
Occasionally support colleagues with general logistics tasks.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE when required.
Practice safe manual handling and lifting techniques.
Adhere to company policies on vehicle use, load securing, and accident reporting.
Requirements:
Valid full UK driving licence (clean record preferred).
Experience driving Transit, Sprinter, or similar medium-sized vans.
Experience with multi-drop deliveries advantageous.
Good knowledge of local roads and routes.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Physically fit to load/unload goods safely.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
