Tradewind are seeking an experienced and determined Teaching Assistant to work at a wonderful school in the area of Withington. In this specialist Teaching Assistant role, your main responsibility will be to support to a pupil with special education needs in a Year 4 class. Your main responsibility will be to offer specialist 1-1 support as well as general support within the main Year 4 classroom. This post is required from September 2025, and you will be required for a full academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- provides individualised support to a student, under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
- ensure the child's learning and well-being needs are met
- promoting the child's social, emotional, and physical development, and potentially assisting with their IEP/EHCP
The school you will be working in is a two-form entry primary school located in the Withington area of Manchester, serving children from Reception to Year 6. The school is known for its strong community, focus on individual student success, and a curriculum designed to foster a love of learning.
Essential requirements:
To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
- Have a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Have previous schools-based experience
- Have strong Written and spoken English skills
- Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
- Provide a CV with employment/education history included. Employment breaks must be explained.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
