Reeson Education is thrilled to be supporting a warm and welcoming mainstream primary school in the M34 area of Manchester in their search for a Teaching Assistant to join their brand-new SEN Provision. This Teaching Assistant role starts as soon as possible, giving the successful candidate time to get to know the school before the provision officially launches in September.

The new SEN Provision will support a small group of children across KS1 and KS2 with a wide range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, anxiety, trauma, and looked-after children. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the SENDCO and wider SEN team to provide structured, nurturing support in a highly inclusive, homely setting where every child is valued.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN and is looking for a stable, long-term position with the potential to secure a school contract.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with additional needs in the new SEN provision
  • Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions
  • Help implement EHCP targets and behaviour regulation strategies
  • Assist in maintaining a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
  • Collaborate with SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Be experienced in supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, etc.)
  • Be confident working with children across KS1 and KS2
  • Be patient, proactive, and compassionate
  • Have a flexible, team-oriented mindset and a strong work ethic
  • Be committed to long-term, full-time work

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Strong references from school-based roles
  • Relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant experience
