About the Role
As Assistant Nursery Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and compliance are maintained. You will be a positive role model to staff, build strong relationships with parents, and ensure the nursery remains a safe, stimulating, and happy place for children to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations

  • Lead by example, promoting best practice across the nursery

  • Support with staff supervision, mentoring, and development

  • Ensure a high standard of care and education is maintained at all times

  • Work within the EYFS framework to plan, implement, and evaluate activities

  • Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals

  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies are followed

  • Step up as acting manager when required

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding practices

  • Previous senior or room leader experience in a nursery setting

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach

  • A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
