Multi skilled Engineer

Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 16:00

Annual Salary of between £40,000 - £44,000 DOE

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally with an Electrical bias to join our well-established client based in Manchester on a full-time permanent basis.

Day to Day Duties

As a Multi skilled Engineer your duties will be: 

  • Carrying out electrical and mechanical PPM activities in accordance with set schedules
  • Ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximize the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems
  • Ensuring on-site quality assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects
  • Maintaining accurate records/documentation associated with the PPM and plant maintenance, aiming to achieve and maintain standards of quality compatible with ISO 9002
  • Responding promptly and effectively to all electrical and mechanical-related reactive maintenance issues
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical and mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, sensors, and control systems
  • Coordinating visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with electrical and mechanical aspects of the PPM schedules
  • Conducting fault diagnosis and repairs on systems including Heating, Ventilation, and Building Services
  • Assisting with the installation, modification, or commissioning of new equipment as required
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies
  • Completing accurate time-sheets and reports as required by management
  • Adhering to security policies and procedures
  • Other duties as requested

Essential Skills

It is essential as a Multi skilled Engineer that you have: 

  • Completion of a nationally recognized electrical or mechanical apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Desirable Experience

It would be desirable as a Multi skilled Engineer if you have: 

  • HNC/HND in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical)
  • PLC fault-finding or programming qualification
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification

Training

  • Company policy and procedure training is provided
