The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of SEND needs. Your primary focus will be with KS2 pupils, ensuring each child receives the individual support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND in KS2
* Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities to meet individual needs
* Help implement and support Individual Education Plans
* Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and self-esteem
* Support pupils with physical, emotional, and behavioural needs
* Work closely with the teacher to assess progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
* Liaise with parents and staff to ensure continuity of care and learning

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND (within the last 2 years)
* Understanding of how SEND impacts learning, particularly in EYFS and KS1
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs
* A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable)
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to various classroom settings
Desirable:
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or other SEND
* Experience with Individual Education Plans and adapting teaching strategies
* SEND training or certification (desirable but not essential)
