Your new company
This multi-academy trust has grown in recent years, with schools joining the trust, as well as with the building of new schools, and it now consists of around 40 academies, based across the North of England. Hays has recruited for this trust for a number of years, with a strong knowledge of what it is like to be an IT Engineer working as part of this team, and regularly receiving positive feedback around the supportive nature of the trust. This particular role will be based at a secondary school in North Manchester, reporting to the Regional IT Manager and becoming an integral part of the team.
Your new role
As an IT Engineer at this secondary school and also supporting local primary schools, you will join an established team where you will work as a team to provide a high level of IT support to both teaching staff and pupils, overall ensuring a positive impact on teaching and learning. On a daily basis, you will be maintaining hardware and software, ensuring that the relevant equipment is available as required for lessons and working closely with the academic/teaching staff to advise on the use of IT equipment in the classroom. This will involve setting up and installing new equipment, software and hardware and also working with bespoke educational technologies such as interactive whiteboards and AV equipment. In addition, you will be supporting with server, network and cloud platforms, which will involve maintaining network cabling, performing basic diagnostics and supporting with broadband connectivity. This is a varied role where you will gain experience in all areas of IT, working closely with the trust central IT staff and also supporting with projects for new technologies.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess IT support experience, ideally with experience working in the education sector in a school, college or mufti academy trust. You will have a proactive approach to your work, with a real passion for providing a high level of IT support and an interest in working in this rewarding sector. In addition, you must possess a valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle, as you may be required to travel to other Manchester-based sites.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between 31,000 and 32,000 dependent on experience, which will also be subject to an annual review and increase, as well as receiving an attractive benefits package.
