IT Support Engineer - 1st / 2nd Line

We are hiring for an IT Support Engineer (1st & 2nd Line) on behalf of a digital consultancy delivering cloud-native platforms and innovative solutions for a range of enterprise clients. Their managed services team provides expert technical support to internal users and client environments, primarily built on Microsoft technologies.
This is a remote position, suitable for an IT Support Engineer with strong 1st and 2nd line experience who thrives in a high-availability helpdesk environment and can confidently manage a range of support tickets with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support as part of the internal and external helpdesk function
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across user desktops, laptops, and remote environments
- Support Windows-based systems, including installation, configuration, and ongoing troubleshooting
- Assist with administration of Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Active Directory
- Support Azure-based environments and Group Policy management
- Set up and support VPNs and user access policies
- Work collaboratively with other support engineers and escalate issues where necessary
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 + years experience in an IT Support Engineer or Service Desk Analyst role (1st and 2nd line)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies:
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
- Office 365 / Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Azure administration
- Exchange Online
- Familiarity with VPN configuration and remote access support
- Confident working independently and resolving technical issues remotely
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a managed services environment or supporting external clients
- ITIL awareness or certifications
- Relevant Microsoft certifications
