Manufacturing Process Engineer

Monday - Friday: 8:00AM - 4:00PM

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our well-established client based in Manchester, on a full-time permanent basis.

Day to Day Duties

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer your Duties will include: 

  • Utilise the standardised Process Engineering tools and processes to ensure that all process engineering activities are completed accurately and consistently across the organisation.
  • Complete PFMEA and Control plan activities for all production processes, driving the associated implementation of process controls to support effective product and process quality.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Production process maps and associated improvement plans, with the aim of identifying and improving production flow and supporting the reduction of process waste and business costs.
  • Ensure that live and up-to-date Standard Operating Instructions are documented and in place for all production processes and products.
  • Monitor and analyse manufacturing process data, identifying and proposing solutions for process improvement continuously.
  • Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineering team to drive operational performance improvements within the every Production process.

Essential Skills

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, it is essential that you have: 

  • Significant Process Engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in the use of standard process engineering tools such as Yamazumi, Time-study (MOST), SOP’s, Value Stream Mapping, SPC, Spaghetti diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
  • Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

As a manufacturing Process Engineer, it would be desirable if you have: 

  • Experience with the design and implementation of new processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies and tools such as Single Piece Flow, Jidoka, SMED and 5S.
  • Experience with standard project management tools, such as Microsoft Project Gantt charts and Project Charters.
  • Good knowledge of APQP processes and tools including PPAP, PSW, PFMEA, Control Plans and Standard Ops
