Our client in the Middleton area are urgently seeking a highly experienced Procurement / Stock Controller to work in our busy engineering stores.
Job Title: Procurement / Stock Controller
Location: On-site (with parking)
Salary: 26,000 - 29,000 per year (based on experience and contribution)
Employment Type: Full-time, 8-hour shifts
Job Summary:
A busy engineering company is seeking an experienced Procurement / Stock Controller to manage their stores. The role involves ensuring a constant supply of parts and materials, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting manufacturing and installation programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Procure goods and services from new and existing suppliers
- Negotiate prices and terms with manufacturing partners
- Monitor supplier issues and provide alternatives
- Liaise with other departments to implement solutions
- Suggest process improvements
Stock Control & Administration
- Daily administration of stores (booking in, stock identification, scanning delivery notes)
- Add new parts to the stock system
- Maintain accurate stock levels and investigate discrepancies
- Liaise with engineering/manufacturing teams regarding minimum and maximum stock levels
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in stores/procurement within an engineering environment
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Strong IT skills
- Willingness to learn about all aspects of manufacturing operations
Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
- English language proficiency required
