iO Associates is working with a major infrastructure delivery partner to recruit a Principal Planning Engineer for a key role supporting large-scale construction and engineering programmes.

This position offers the chance to take ownership of planning functions across the full project lifecycle-from bid and pre-contract phases through to delivery and handover. You'll lead on detailed schedule forecasting, risk-informed analysis, and Earned Value reporting, collaborating with commercial and delivery teams to keep high-value projects on track.

You'll also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior planners and supporting team growth as new contracts emerge.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong planning expertise across engineering, procurement, and construction phases

  • Skilled in cost/time integration, risk forecasting, and performance reporting

  • Confident communicator with stakeholder management experience

  • Proficient in project controls tools and MS Office

  • Experience in highly regulated industries is a plus
