Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a property consultancy in their search for a talented Town Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and driven planning professional to join a collaborative, people-focused team delivering creative planning solutions across the UK.

About the Role

As a Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and supporting a wide range of development projects. Working closely with senior colleagues, you will take the lead on smaller projects and provide valuable input into more complex applications.

This role offers real scope for progression, flexibility in working arrangements, and a supportive environment that encourages professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare site appraisals and planning statements with minimal supervision

  • Conduct thorough policy and planning history reviews and propose initial strategies

  • Manage and monitor smaller planning applications, including coordination of design and technical inputs

  • Maintain clear and accurate project records and updates for clients

  • Support the team with project updates, social media content, and business development activities

  • Assist with managing external consultant teams and supporting larger projects

About You
  • Hold a master's degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a UK planning role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proactive approach to project management and problem-solving

  • Confident working both independently and within a team

  • Demonstrable ability to deliver high-quality written outputs with attention to detail

  • Associate RTPI membership, working toward full accreditation

  • A UK driver's licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous
