Role Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a residential apartment complex in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance services across the site, covering basic mechanical, electrical, and fabric tasks. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to ensure the building remains safe, functional, and well-presented for residents.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical tasks, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC checks, and minor installations.
  • Undertake general fabric maintenance such as painting, patch repairs, door adjustments, and flooring fixes.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resident issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues or hazards.
  • Support contractors and assist with site inspections when required.
  • Participate in an on-call rota or shift pattern if applicable.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within residential or property management.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong general building/fabric maintenance skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Building Services, Electrical, Plumbing, or equivalent).
  • Health & Safety awareness (e.g., COSHH, manual handling).
