Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join a well established engineering consultancy delivering complex projects across the UK regulated water industry. The role focuses on wastewater process design and technical leadership across a varied project portfolio.
Project Exposure
Projects include but are not limited to:

Upgrades to wastewater treatment works including UMON 3 and 4 schemes

Design of new wastewater treatment works and capacity increases at existing assets
-
Non infrastructure clean water projects
Key Responsibilities
-
Ensure the design team produces deliverables that meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Identify appropriate and efficient process design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to the client and wider project team

Direct, mentor, and develop engineers and graduate engineers

Review and approve design deliverables, design risk assessments, reports, and specifications
-
Check and approve mass balance calculations, process sizing, hydraulic calculations, process flow diagrams, control philosophies, and commissioning strategies

Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards

Ensure all project design changes are fully implemented and formally recorded

Ensure work is undertaken in line with defined processes and procedures

Estimate design hours and input into project planning

Attend and present designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM meetings, and similar technical forums
-
Review, interpret, and brief technical standards, procedures, and updates, providing expert guidance to project teams and tenders
Candidate Requirements
-
Minimum of 10 years relevant design experience within the regulated UK water industry
-
Extensive experience in wastewater unit processes and treatment plant design

Proven track record delivering wastewater process design projects

Degree, HND, or equivalent experience from technician level
-
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
-
Strong IT skills and experience working with engineering design tools
