Quality Technician

Middleton, Manchester

4on 4 off 7AM-7PM

£12.82 Per hour 

Fixed Term Contract - 6 Months

 

Key Purpose:

To undertake routine tasks and monitoring that support the effective operation of the Quality management system and conformance to BRC standards.

The Role:

  • Perform microbiological testing of finished products and environmental samples, ensuring compliance with specifications and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Conduct Challenge Testing and organism identification, maintaining laboratory hygiene, equipment, and reagent standards.
  • Provide QA support across blending, blowmoulding, and filling processes to ensure product quality and resolve issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate quality data to drive improvements in raw materials, finished goods, and processes.
  • Lead/support investigations into quality failures, customer complaints, and non-conformances with cross-department collaboration.
  • Conduct supplier audits and communicate non-conformance findings to promote corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage first production batch testing and support quality control of liquid samples per procedures.
  • Prepare management reports, maintain records, and participate in team communications to share learnings and support continuous improvement.
  • Uphold Health & Safety standards through inspections, risk assessments, and adherence to protocols.
  • Perform administrative duties including data recording, filing, batch status reporting, and responding to queries.

 

The Person:

  • Qualification in a Science subject (Biology related) preferably to ‘A’ Level standard / equivalent or above.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a microbiology laboratory or equivalent microbiology practical skills.
  • Experience of interpreting and evaluating microbiological results a distinct advantage.
  • Computer Literate (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Experience of internal auditing is an advantage
