A well-established specialist subcontractor delivering complex building envelope solutions across the UK. With a strong reputation in faade remediation, cladding replacement, roofing systems, and external wall insulation, this business is known for its technical expertise, commitment to safety, and quality project delivery.
Operating on major residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, they work in partnership with tier-one contractors and developers, providing full design, supply, and installation services. Continued growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester-based commercial team.



Your new role

Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in roofing, cladding, and faade packages to take commercial responsibility across a range of projects in the North West region.
You'll manage all financial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring cost control, risk management, and commercial performance meet company and client expectations.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the full commercial lifecycle of roofing, cladding, and faade projects (typically 1m-10m in value).

  • Preparing and managing tender submissions, cost plans, and budgets.

  • Valuations, variations, and interim/final account negotiations.

  • Cost forecasting, cash flow management, and monthly reporting.

  • Procurement of subcontractors, materials, and specialist suppliers.

  • Ensuring compliance with contracts, legislation, and company procedures.

  • Supporting project teams with contractual and financial guidance.

  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

  • Mentoring junior QS staff and contributing to the continued growth of the commercial function.



What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (preferably Senior QS level) within roofing, cladding, faades, or building envelope projects.

  • Solid understanding of JCT and/or NEC contract forms.

  • Strong financial and contractual awareness with the ability to identify risk and opportunity.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple live projects.

  • Based in or commutable to Manchester, with flexibility to visit sites across the region.
