Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Contractor
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £80,000 plus package
We’re representing a leading tier-1 main contractor delivering major city-centre developments across the North West. With a strong pipeline of large-scale commercial, residential and mixed-use projects, they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a landmark Manchester scheme.
The Role
- Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you’ll take ownership of key packages on a complex, multi-disciplinary project. You’ll be responsible for cost management, procurement, change control, and reporting, ensuring commercial performance is maintained throughout delivery. The role offers exposure to high-value contracts and the opportunity to work within a dynamic tier-1 project environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned packages

Lead on procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts

Produce accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts

Work closely with project, design and operational teams to maintain financial control

Support the Commercial Manager in managing risk, cash flow and subcontract performance

Ensure compliance with company and client commercial procedures
About You
-
Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS with a tier-1 or major main contractor

Background in large commercial, residential or mixed-use developments

Excellent contractual and commercial understanding (JCT or NEC)

Some exposure to M&E or building services preferred but not essential

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
