Learning Behaviour Mentor – Manchester– £101.40 per day

Are you a psychology, sociology, or criminology graduate looking to gain hands on experience working with young people? A specialist SEN school in the Leeds and Wakefield area is currently seeking a passionate and resilient Learning Behaviour Mentor to support students with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are interested in progressing into careers in education, youth work, counselling, or mental health. The role offers meaningful, practical experience within a nurturing school environment that prioritises student wellbeing and positive behaviour support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH)
  • Help implement strategies to improve pupil behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering accessible and inclusive learning
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Create a safe and positive learning environment where every child can thrive

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, or a related subject (required)
  • A passion for working with children and supporting those with additional needs
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Experience working with young people or in a school/care/youth setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Commitment to working full-time
