We work closely with courts, young people, and their families to deliver excellent outcomes and ensure effective planning that supports positive futures.About the RoleAs a Youth Justice Officer, you will:
- Deliver high-quality services aimed at preventing and reducing youth offending.
- Conduct clear assessments of risk (harm, re-offending, offence-related needs).
- Develop and implement effective, evidence-based interventions.
- Manage a caseload and maintain accurate, timely records.
- Prepare reports for court and other agencies.
- Supervise pre-sentence and post-sentence interventions, including custodial sentences.
- Work in partnership with other agencies to safeguard young people and improve public protection.
- Ensure compliance with national standards and local performance targets.
About YouWe are looking for someone who is:
- Focused, dynamic, and passionate about helping young people.
- Experienced in Transitions and familiar with the Probation Service.
- Knowledgeable about the Criminal Justice System and the desistance framework.
- A self-motivated, creative thinker who is flexible and pragmatic.
- Skilled in delivering face-to-face interventions with young people and families.
- Able to supervise cases, manage risk, and develop high-quality supervision plans.
- A strong communicator with the ability to motivate and engage young people.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 in Community Justice or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant qualification such as DipSW, Degree in Social Work, PCEP, or equivalent.
- Consent to and application for an enhanced disclosure check.
- Familiarity with IT systems (e.g., Excel, Word, Childview).
