Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting passionate and resilient SEN teaching assistants to join an alternative provision in the Swinton area. You will be supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work collaboratively with teachers and external agencies to establish trusting relationships with pupils. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a similar setting.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, building rapport
  • Monitoring progress and implementing strategies to feedback to the class teacher
  • Preparing learning resources for lessons to enhance learning experiences

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting SEN and SEMH within a similar setting
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Team Teach Training is highly desired
  • Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)

  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
