Job Description:The school is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join their supportive and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of teaching English to secondary-aged students with a variety of SEN needs, and a passion for delivering creative, engaging lessons that foster a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver effective, differentiated English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Adapt teaching methods to suit the learning needs of students with SEN, ensuring each student has access to the curriculum and is supported to reach their potential.

Implement strategies to support the development of literacy skills, including reading, writing, and communication.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them improve their understanding and skills.

Contribute to the development and delivery of tailored interventions and support plans.

Work collaboratively with other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Contribute to the wider school community and engage in extracurricular activities when appropriate.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

A degree in English, Education, or a related field.

Experience teaching English to secondary-aged students, preferably with SEN experience.

A strong understanding of the barriers students with SEN face and how to differentiate instruction.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both students and staff.
