As an Exams Access Arrangements Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in identifying and implementing appropriate exam support for learners with special educational needs, disabilities, or temporary impairments. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, support teams, and awarding bodies to ensure all arrangements are compliant, timely, and tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of learners to determine eligibility for exam access arrangements (e.g., extra time, readers, scribes, rest breaks)
  • Produce and maintain clear, compliant documentation in line with JCQ regulations and college policies
  • Liaise with curriculum teams, support staff, and external professionals to gather evidence and ensure holistic support
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on access arrangements and inclusive exam practices
  • Monitor and review arrangements to ensure they remain appropriate and effective
  • Support the wider Additional Learning Support (ALS) team in promoting inclusive education across the college

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A recognised qualification in assessing for access arrangements, such as Level 7 Certificate in Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements (CPT3A)
  • In-depth knowledge of JCQ regulations and experience applying them in an educational setting
  • Experience working with learners with SEND or additional needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice
  • DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one
