We are offering a brand new opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) alternative provision in the South Manchester area. The successful candidate will aim to improve the academic achievement of young children who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and require extra support to gain the right tools within their school years to succeed in their future years.

The ideal person for this role would be:

  • Experienced in KS3 teaching or experience working with SEN or SEMH (beneficial but not essential)
  • Obtain diverse teaching styles
  • Passionate about making a difference in children's lives

Your responsibilities:

  • Planning and teaching lessons to secondary school children
  • Provide group or 1:1 support with pupils
  • Creating engaging and creative lesson plans for the children
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the pupils
  • Tracking progress of the pupils and devising plans to improve attainment based on successes and weaknesses of the class

Your requirements:

  • A teaching qualification (NQTs will also be considered)
  • A DBS on the update service - or willingness to have one ran
