Job Title: IT ManagerLocation: Site Based Mansfield, NottinghamshireContract: Permanent (Full Time)Salary: £50,000 per annum DOEThe role of IT ManagerOur client, who is based in Mansfield and is one of Europe's leading independent manufacturers of high-quality automotive products, has a brand-new opening for an IT Manager to join their existing IT Department, and play a pivotal role in shaping the structure of the department moving forwards, through strong people management. The IT Manager will lead and oversee the IT Team, which compromises of computer programmers and hardware engineers, working towards the development of in-house software. The IT Manager will be responsible for setting and prioritising goals and ensuring effective communication both within the IT Department and across the whole business.This role reports directly into the Managing Director, is fully site based 5 days a week in Mansfield, and applicants for this role must be able to commit to attending the office full time.Key Responsibilities

  • manage the IT Department on a day-to-day basis, including responsibility for performance management, and training and development
  • ensure all IT resources are available and managed within the budget
  • recruit, train and retain IT department staff
  • set and enforce IT priorities, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives
  • prepare company reports, including highlight reports and reviews of the Company Risk Register
  • understand IT systems and develop and/or source software solutions that meet the needs of departmental managers and support company goals and objectives
  • ensure the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of all IT systems, software, and hardware
  • ensure the IT Department follows the company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

About YouThe successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of working in a people manager role, with excellent communication skills, who is able to bring strong and structured leadership to the Team. You should also have:

  • a general understanding of IT systems and a sound understanding of VB.NET moving to C#.NET would be advantageous
  • good attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • either an IT and/or management qualification, although is not essential
