About the Role and Client:


Our client, a respected manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Buyer to monitor and facilitate purchasing requirements, ensuring timely delivery and best-value contracts. You’ll mentor team members and provide management support in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the purchasing team to meet project deadlines.
  • Cover purchasing duties during the Supply Chain Manager's absence.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and capital expenditure advice.
  • Oversee materials requirement planning and ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse market conditions, manage stock levels, and mitigate risks.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Secure long-term cost agreements and review supply agreements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support cost-down programmes.
  • Maintain SAP data accuracy and manage electronic/manual systems.
  • Collaborate with accounts and production teams to minimise shortages.
  • Engage in process improvements and lean management projects.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • CIPS qualification with strong purchasing knowledge.
  • MUST have SAP experience.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and maintain accuracy.
  • Flexible and willing to travel as required.
