Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an ITEA Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Marlow. The role involves significant systems and electronics integration for electronic warfare units with a focus on airworthiness and certification within the engineering lifecycle of airborne communication and mission systems.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead physical and functional integration and verification activities of comms and radar systems.
  • Write functional test procedures at sub-system/system level.
  • Execute testing as per the test procedures and create thorough test reports, liaising with external organisations as necessary.
  • Manage test results, including success and failure management, and provide evidence outputs to progress to required outcomes.
  • Operate lab RF lab test equipment (e.g., signal generators, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, noise sources) to stimulate and analyse systems.
  • Compile Verification Compliance Matrix and DDPs.
  • Participate in other verification/qualification activities.
  • Support meetings with customers/suppliers, including preparation of documentation and presentations.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report progress and escalate technical issues as required.
  • Ensure delivery of work to time, cost, and quality standards.


Job Requirements:

  • Proactive and able to self-drive progress while seeking input when required.
  • Solid knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Experience working with ambiguity and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical issues to stakeholders at different levels.
  • Good understanding of risk and configuration management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering degree or relevant experience in Electronics/RF Comms/Software.
  • Experience in leading ITEA activity in complex/airborne/aerospace projects.
  • Experience in verification/design of RF systems or other complex electronic/networking systems is advantageous.
  • Awareness of aerospace specifications such as ARP4754, RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-810 is desirable.
  • Experience working on communication and radar systems.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering toolsets (e.g., Polarion) is desirable.
