Due to expanding business we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer with electronics assembly experience. Based in Matfield just outside Tunbridge Wells in Kent, RVL are a long-established Design and Assembly company operating for over 30 years. We have an ever expanding, world-wide, client base. Reporting to the current Quality team, you will work closely alongside the Production team and Production Manager to evaluate the day-to-day robustness of the manufacturing process and systems, as listed in the QMS. You will ensure that products meet quality and performance standards as well as safety and regulatory requirements.
Occasional travel may be needed to trade shows and to meet suppliers or customers.
The Quality Engineering role will involve, but is not limited to:
- To work alongside the Production Manager to establish benchmarks for product quality by creating procedures to ensure adherence.
- To monitor the production process, identifying defects, perform root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- To assist with Goods Inwards and Outwards Inspection.
- To identify potential quality risks and develop strategies to minimise their impact.
- To work alongside design, production and other teams to improve processes and ensure quality throughout a products lifecycle.
- Collect and analyse quality data (Non-Conforming Product and Customer Returns) to track performance, identify trends and offer data driven decisions.
- Apply manufacturing principles and theory to suggest how to advance and improve product and development efficiency.
- To work alongside the Management team to monitor processes, procedures, and workflow techniques.
- To maintain the calibration register and ensure that tools and equipment are calibrated on time where required, with minimal downtime.
For this role, you must be able to demonstrate all the following in an electronics environment:
- Strong knowledge of ISO9001and manufacturing standards.
- Experience in internal and external audits.
- Technically astute problem solver including tools such as 8D, PFMEA etc.
- Strong leadership, planning and decision making skills.
- Good reporting skills.
- Strong communicator, both internal and external.
- Ideally minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or Quality Assurance or considerable previous experience in related role.
- Experience with IPC qualifications such as IPC-A-610 would be an advantage.

This is a permanent role and hours are 37.5 hours per week on a flexi time basis.
Salary 30,000 - 40,000 DOE.
