As HR Assistant, you’ll provide crucial support to the site HR function, working closely with managers to assist with HR Administration, employee matters, support on recruitment as well as helping to manage HR projects such as wellbeing initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their HR skills and exposure.Â

Key Responsibilities of the HR Assistant:
- Manage and maintain HR databases and records
- Handle admin tasks related to starters, leavers, and transfers
- Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, offer letters, and onboarding
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
- Assist with employee meetings, including taking notes at grievance and disciplinary processes
- Provide first-line support for HR queries such as payroll, holidays, and absence
- Generate and analyse HR reports (e.g. absence, headcount, holidays)
- Improve HR systems and processes for accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee the absence management process and support with review meetings
- Assist with apprentice reviews and undertake HR projects
- Support on wellbeing and engagement initiatives such as employee newsletters and social events
Key Skills & Experience required:Â
- Experience gained within a HR department at Apprentice, Admin or Assistant level
- Knowledge of HR processes and procedures, backed by experience or qualifications
- Strong HR administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to build effective relationships across all levels
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting
- A proactive, professional, and positive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Longer term consideration will be given to CIPD support if appropriate.
