Brass Tutor

- Salary: £25.62 PAYE per hour / £33.47 via Umbrella

We are seeking a dedicated Brass Tutor to join our Culture, Sport and Tourism Service within the Regeneration and Environment department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all pupils in the Rotherham community have access to enriching musical experiences. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping the artistic lives of children and young people, providing them with opportunities to engage with and influence music within the local authority.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Operate within the policies and procedures of the music service, ensuring compliance with service deadlines.
- Report on pupil progress and attainment to Rotherham Music as required.
- Model and encourage good working relationships with staff in schools, school governors, Rotherham Music, and colleagues in partner organisations.
- Promote to all pupils the range of opportunities available through Rotherham Music.
- Perform in, lead, and contribute to concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and projects as agreed with Rotherham Music line management.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the whole service through attendance at regular staff and departmental meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experienced brass player (trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba, etc.).
- Proven experience in delivering lessons on principal instruments within the brass family.
- Skilled in lesson planning, register keeping, assessment, and reporting.
- Knowledge of Child Protection issues and safeguarding in schools.
- Understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice 2015.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, schools, parents, partners, and pupils.
