Hours: 35 per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year, pro rata)
Contract: Fixed term until August 2026

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children across Key Stage 1, with flexibility to work across all phases from EYFS through to Year 6 when required. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in pupils' learning, confidence, and personal development.
About the Role
The Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted one-to-one and small group support, particularly within KS1. Responsibilities will include:
Supporting lesson delivery and positive behaviour management.
Assisting with SEND provision and implementing effective learning strategies.
Preparing engaging resources and ensuring the classroom is inclusive, stimulating, and safe.
Supporting trips, enrichment activities, and wider school life.
Skills and Experience Required
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards one).
Experience supporting children in KS1 or EYFS.
Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND.
Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.
Understanding of child development and how children learn.
Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
Experience in positive behaviour management.
A proactive, flexible approach and genuine enthusiasm for primary education.
