A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children across Key Stage 1, with flexibility to work across all phases from EYFS through to Year 6 when required. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in pupils' learning, confidence, and personal development.



About the Role

The Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted one-to-one and small group support, particularly within KS1. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting lesson delivery and positive behaviour management.

  • Assisting with SEND provision and implementing effective learning strategies.

  • Preparing engaging resources and ensuring the classroom is inclusive, stimulating, and safe.

  • Supporting trips, enrichment activities, and wider school life.



Skills and Experience Required

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards one).

  • Experience supporting children in KS1 or EYFS.

  • Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEND.

  • Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.

  • Understanding of child development and how children learn.

  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.

  • Experience in positive behaviour management.

  • A proactive, flexible approach and genuine enthusiasm for primary education.

  • UK right to work (this role is not eligible for sponsorship).
