Title: Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Teesside (Hybrid)
Salary: 70-80,000 + car allowance + package
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading main contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex project across the UK. The Senior Planning Engineer will join an experienced team who are responsible for delivering a landmark infrastructure project.
The Role
The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, managing, and updating the project programme, ensuring that Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation (ME&I) activities are accurately integrated and coordinated. The role will require close collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, providing clear and reliable planning information to support project delivery.
You'll use your advanced Primavera P6 skills to monitor progress, produce programme updates and forecasts, and identify potential risks or delays, offering effective mitigation strategies when needed. The role also involves contributing to delay analysis, supporting extension of time claims, and participating in project progress meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6
- Integrate ME&I planning elements within the overall project schedule
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies
- Provide programme updates, forecasts, and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the preparation of extension of time claims and delay analysis
- Attend regular client, subcontractor, and internal planning meetings
- Ensure all planning outputs comply with company procedures and contractual obligations
Candidate
- Proven experience as a Senior Planning Engineer within infrastructure, energy, or process industries
- Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation (ME&I) projects
- Advanced user of Primavera P6 planning software
- Sound understanding of project management principles and construction methodologies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
