The successful candidate will be responsible for the full end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse portfolio of clients. Your new roleWe are seeking a highly organised and experienced Payroll Senior to join a Middlesbrough-based Accountancy Practice.You will be responsible for processing payrolls for a diverse portfolio of over 200 clients, including weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls, with a strong focus onDirector-only payrolls.This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a client-focused environment and enjoys working with autonomy and flexibility.Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of client payrolls across various frequencies (weekly, four-weekly, monthly)
  • Managing a portfolio of 200+ clients, primarily Director-only payrolls
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and RTI submissions
  • Handling pension submissions and auto-enrolment duties
  • Responding to client queries and providing expert payroll advice
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery

What you'll need to succeed What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a payroll processing role, ideally within a bureau or accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar)
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
