Overview:We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join a cutting-edge Histology laboratory in Milton Keynes. This permanent role is ideal for a professional seeking structured progression, excellent benefits, and a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake routine and specialist histological techniques, including microtomy, embedding, staining (H&E and special stains), and immunohistochemistry.

  • Operate and maintain automated tissue processors and staining platforms.

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure diagnostic standards are upheld.

  • Collaborate with pathologists and support service delivery improvements.

  • Assist in training junior staff and participating in internal audits and accreditation processes.

Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist (Cellular Pathology/Histology discipline).

  • Substantial post-registration experience in a histopathology lab.

  • Skilled in microtomy, embedding, and IHC techniques.

  • Familiar with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations in a lab setting.

  • Quality-focused with good communication and teamworking skills.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

  • Initial core hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), moving to extended rota after training.

  • Permanent position with scope for career progression.
