Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Multi-Trade Operative to deliver high-quality maintenance, repair, and installation services across a variety of commercial properties. The role requires strong skills across multiple trades—including carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, and basic electrical—within office spaces, retail environments, warehouses, and other commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and minor project work across commercial sites.
  • Perform a broad range of general maintenance tasks such as:
    • Basic plumbing (e.g., fixing leaks, unblocking sinks)
    • Carpentry (e.g., door/frame repairs, locks, shelving)
    • Tiling and patch plastering
    • Painting and decorating
    • Basic electrical tasks (e.g., replacing light fittings, sockets)
  • Accurately complete job sheets and compliance documentation.
  • Work independently or with other trades to complete jobs efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety procedures while on-site.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.
  • Communicate effectively with site managers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Provide emergency/urgent support where needed.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven multi-trade experience in commercial settings.
  • Knowledge of building systems and commercial maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work from drawings, schematics, and scopes of work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and risk assessment procedures.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NVQ or City & Guilds in one or more building trades.
  • CSCS card or other site access certifications.
  • Experience in facilities management, commercial maintenance contracts, or retail fit-outs.

Working Environment:

  • Work will take place across multiple sites including offices, retail units, warehouses, and other commercial premises.
  • May include occasional overnight stayaways.
