About the Role:

As Head of Science, you will take the strategic and operational lead of the Science faculty, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages. You will be responsible for curriculum planning, staff development, performance monitoring, and fostering a culture of academic excellence and curiosity within the sciences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Science department with confidence, vision, and integrity
  • Oversee the delivery of an engaging and ambitious curriculum across KS3-KS5

  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance through assessment data and lesson observations
  • Promote high standards of teaching and learning

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
  • Recent UK teaching experience within the Science specialism - Essential
  • Previous experience as a Head of Science or in a departmental leadership role - Highly desirable
  • A clear, enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply
  • Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
