About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Religious Studies Teacher to join our dedicated and passionate team at a well-established Catholic Secondary School in Milton Keynes. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent position, starting in September 2025, and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced and committed Religious Studies Teacher to contribute to our vibrant school community.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the subject, with a commitment to nurturing students' spiritual and academic development. As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing lessons for students across various year groups, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

You will also collaborate closely with your colleagues in the Religious Studies and wider teaching teams to ensure the delivery of a high-quality educational experience to all students. Our school promotes strong values based on Catholic teachings, and you will play a key role in upholding and promoting these principles within the classroom and the broader school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Religious Studies lessons to students, ensuring high standards of learning and achievement.
  • Plan and prepare lessons that align with the curriculum and school ethos, while adapting teaching styles to cater to individual learning needs.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development.
  • Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment, encouraging all students to participate fully in their learning.
  • Work closely with other staff members to support students' personal, spiritual, and academic growth.
  • Ensure that Catholic teachings and values are embedded in all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in teaching Religious Studies at a secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the subject content and curriculum.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Experience teaching in the UK educational system
  • A passion for teaching and an understanding of the values of a Catholic education
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
