We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a supportive school environment. This role is crucial in helping students with social, emotional, and mental health needs reach their full potential through tailored individual and small group support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Offer targeted support to students with special educational needs, focusing on social, emotional, and mental health aspects.
- Assist teachers in the development and execution of lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, ensuring all students feel supported and valued.
- Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with school staff and fellow Learning Support Assistants to promote holistic student achievement.
- Help administer assessments and tests, creating a supportive and understanding testing environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role, particularly in environments addressing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Strong ability to connect with students from diverse ages, backgrounds, and learning abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction and support.
- Capacity to work both independently and as an integral part of a team.
- A deep passion for assisting students with special needs and a dedication to their educational and personal success.
