We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs, providing both academic and emotional support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in both group and one-to-one settings
  • Assist in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver tailored interventions
  • Monitor and track students’ progress, offering feedback to the teaching team
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills through targeted activities
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a positive, constructive manner

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
