Project Manager – Engineering & Manufacturing
Location: Mitcham, Surrey

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 benefits

We are working with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a skilled and proactive Project Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex, high-value projects from concept through to completion, with a strong focus on innovation, customer delivery, and technical excellence.

As Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of multiple engineering projects including new tooling and automation development, customer-driven initiatives, and process improvements. You’ll ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent customer and stakeholder relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities as a Project Manager:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Develop detailed project plans covering timescales, resources, and validation activities.
  • Act as the key liaison with customers, ensuring requirements are captured and communicated effectively.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, tooling, automation, production, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards (ISO9001 / ISO13485).
  • Manage budgets, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and engineering processes.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities.

 

About You, as a Project Manager:

  • Proven experience in project management within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong track record of managing customer relationships, expectations, and project scope.
  • Technical background ideally in medical devices, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (CAD knowledge beneficial).
  • Familiarity with production methods advantageous.
  • Proficient in project tracking software (Microsoft Project preferred) and MS Office tools.
  • Project management certifications (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, etc.) highly desirable.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred.
