We are looking for the right person, to join our Quality Management group as a member of the Emergency Preparedness Team at Heysham 1.
The Opportunity
Resilient emergency arrangements are an essential part of operating a nuclear power station and you will be a key member of our team in maintaining the success of this function.
As a member of the Emergency Preparedness Team, you will assist with providing the Heysham 1 management with assurance that adequate management system arrangements are in place to protect the business concerning compliance with Company policies, standards and processes, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and any other Legal Requirements
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for assisting the EPE in managing the station's emergency arrangements and ensuring an effective response is available for a variety of potential incidents, ranging from nuclear and chemical to environmental and security.
As part of the Emergency Preparedness (EP) team your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining adequate emergency arrangements in relation to:
- Annual emergency exercise planning
- Scenario development
- Exercise preparation, logistics & delivery
- Exercise debriefs, lessons learnt, opex briefs
- Identification of training needs & support training delivery
- Liaise with/support emergency equipment owners
- Manage Emergency Scheme succession planning
Alongside assisting the EPE with:
- Liaison with fleet and role specific peer group
- Liaison with local authority & emergency services
- Liaison with External Stakeholders
- Prepare EPRG packs, minutes etc
- Development & oversight of EP maintenance & enhancement plan
- Maintenance of Heysham 1 Emergency Handbook
