Blockley Café is a unique property and one of a kind in the country, located in the unspoilt Cotswold village of Blockley. Chef lead with an ambitious team at its heart, cooking with ingredients & recipes that are used in Michelin kitchens & we are always continually developing. A Café only by name, we aim to exceed expectations & never let our small size stop us or what we do, serving simple dishes to more refined menus. Cooking seasonally and with the best ingredients, we take huge pride in sourcing the most amazing local suppliers and sharing what they do with you, you'll be cooking with some of the most incredible food, found in any kitchen. We are proud to not just serve our local community but those beyond & foodies who travel to us, providing a memorable dining experience.

About you

As a chef you will be able to bring a positive and motivational attribution to the kitchen to help us build on what we do and strive for excellence every day. You will have outstanding stammer and passion, along with an infectious ability to spread this throughout the team and to adapt to our fast paced and ever changing busy hub of the property.

We are open 7 days a week, all year round. Serving Dinner on four of those days. Your days will consist of straight shifts but your ability to be flexible is vital.

Main responsibilities:

  • You will be able to execute all dishes on the menu as per our specification
  • Deliver daily mise en place requirements
  • Ability to keep an eye on stock levels, to create new working lists.
  • Learn about ingredients and our amazing producers.
  • Pro-actively assisting colleagues and working towards a common goal of exceeding customers expectation and serving the best, freshest food within time frames.
  • Ensure your section is set for the next day, leaving a well maintained section.
  • Share your knowledge and passion within the whole team, to enable us to continue to be the driving force.
  • Developing & maintaining standards with an eye for detail across the whole kitchen operation, including food hygiene.
  • Managing stock levels, rotation and looking after our great ingredients.
