iMultiply are working with a highly respected business in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a short-term basis. Known for their reliable service and strong customer relationships, the company is currently undergoing a busy period and requires interim support to maintain effective credit control and cash flow.The RoleThis is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for managing a large and varied debtor book, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments, and supporting the wider finance function. Reporting directly to senior management, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate records, strong customer relationships, and efficient credit processes.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the debtor ledger, ensuring overdue debts are followed up

  • Contact customers via phone and email to resolve outstanding balances

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

  • Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts accurately

  • Monitor aged debt and escalate problem accounts where required

  • Set up and monitor payment plans

  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliations

  • Liaise with internal sales and service teams to resolve billing or service-related disputes

  • Provide updates on cash flow and credit risk to managementWhat We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a credit control role, ideally within a high-volume environment

  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Sage) and strong Excel skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritise effectively

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Experience in construction or wholesale distribution is beneficial
