Job Description
- Overseeing the flow of materials within the organisation.
- Ensuring smooth operation of procurement and supply chain activities.
- Implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinating with various departments to manage inventory levels.
- Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstock and out-of-stock situations.
- Evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships.
- Monitoring and reporting on supply chain performance to senior management.
Profile
A successful Materials Planner should have:
- Proven experience in materials planning and procurement within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
- The ability to forecast supply and demand and prevent overstock and out-of-stock situations.
- Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Good reporting skills and ability analyse data
